Fall Back Autumn Rush

October should be one of those months that just slowly creeps along. Kids should be agonizing over  their Halloween costumes and dreaming about goblins and mini-Reese's. Adults should have the luxury of a long weekend to decorate the house in ghosts and pumpkins. We shouldn't scramble at 5 PM on Halloween night to carve our jack-o-lanterns. But here we are again, barely into the second week of tights and riding boots and already it feels like we are racing toward the New Year.

These are the times that try men's souls. And tummies. When the frantic pace of work and personal responsibilities and occasional fun nights get in the way of dinner, it is really easy to grab quick dinners of junk food, fast food, and not-so-healthy meals. Over at Called to the Table today I offer up some ideas for "Cheater Pizza." Cheater Pizza, a.k.a. Salad Pizza, combines a bar-baked crust with ingredients most of us have on hand, all topped with a hardy salad. Rather than racing through October, I am racing to dinner.
