Soups and Cocktails

Probably the best Bloody Mary mix I've ever had came from Bryant Lake Bowl in Uptown. I'd only eaten there post 6 PM and had never tried their brunchy-type cocktails, until the State Fair a few years ago when a chef from Bryant Lake did a demo at the Renewing the Countryside stage where I volunteer each year. That Bloody Mix sans alcohol was actually good enough to drink sans alcohol.

Over at Called to the Table today is a recipe for Chilled Salsa Soup, kind of a nod to that Bryant Lake Bloody on this First Day of The Fair. Eat up, and you can find me at The Fair back at Renewing the Countryside.
